If you are interested in the 2011 season, email us your information. We will send an announcement when registration begins.
Thanksgiving share!
Hi Everyone!
We are pleased to be able to offer an expanded Thanksgiving Share this year. Not only will Hearty Roots be delivering vegetables, fruit and eggs, we will also be offering Amber Sather's homemade apple and pumpkin pies.
Distribution for all these items will be Saturday, November 21 from 9am-10am at LOT 2 at the corner of Sixth Avenue and 20th Street.

Just wanted to thank you all for making this such a great season! That's right--this past Saturday was our last distribution until next year.

A lively panel discussion among the 39th district city council candidates Brad Lander (Democrat), Joe Nardiello (Republican) , and David Pechefsky (Green) as they talk about their views on food policy.

As you may already know, our new neighborhood restaurant, LOT 2, shares many of our CSA interests in local food and sustainable farming.
LOT 2 is generously offering our CSA members a 10% discount.

Braised Winter Greens with Chickpeas, Onions, and Garlic
2 bunches chard, kale, collard, or other winter greens, about 1 ½ pounds total
3 Tbsp. olive oil
2 large cloves garlic, minced
½ medium yellow or red onion, minced
1 can (15 ½ ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
Salt
1 ½ tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
