Garlic Scape Pesto
Great recipe from Dorrie Greenspan's blog. Wonderful over whole wheat pasta with crushed red pepper and sauteed turnip greens. I subbed walnuts:
GARLIC SCAPE AND ALMOND PESTO
Makes about 1 cup
10 garlic scapes, finely chopped
1/3 to 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan (to taste and texture)
1/3 cup slivered almonds (you could toast them lightly, if you'd like)
About 1/2 cup olive oil
Sea salt

Our annual all-members meeting was held on Saturday, March 26, 2011. This year we met our farmers Benjamin Shute of Hearty Roots vegetable farm and Dave Siegel of Muddy Farms chicken egg farm. We also learned about distribution and general proceedures for the summer season. The meeting lasted a little over a half hour. Please watch below if you missed anything.

Brooklyn Compost Opportunities
We can compost!
Every week the CSA does good for the environment by obtaining local food direct from our farmer. We reduce waste by requiring less transportation and packaging. We can do more by reusing all the food scraps in compost. Here are some places in our neighborhood where you can get involved with composting.
6/15 Green
Where: 6th Ave & 15th Street, Park Slope
